IceSpy, UK - Applications > Temperature Monitoring to Protect Health in Hospitals

Pharmacies in hospitals are required to store drugs in refrigerators or cold stores. It is critical to alert the pharmacy/supervisor if a temperature approaches a preset minimum or maximum boundary.

The Challenge

High value drugs need careful monitoring and critical alarms need to be transmitted to the person in charge even when not on site. The alarms need to take account of personnel working shifts.

How we were able to help

System5 SCOUTPLUS units with internal temperature sensors and external door opening event monitoring were fitted to each fridge. Data is transmitted via radio to a System5 BASE and this in turn downloads the data for permantent storage in a PC. If a door is opened more than acceptable or the temperature rises above a predetermined maximum temperature an alarm is sent by the System5 PC software or BASE to the appropriate persons mobile phone.
